What’s your strength?®  is the brainchild of Career Development Professional, Katherine Jennick, who is passionate about using a strength-based approach to help people realise amazing they are. Founded in 2019, What’s your strength?®  started as a pack of cards to empower teenagers. It has evolved into a series of award-winning resources for young people, adults, and people with additional needs. As well as the abundance of strength-based resources, Katherine also offers 1:1 career guidance for young people, and runs collaborative creative workshops for a variety of different audiences.

There are four packs of cards in the What’s your strength collection:

  • one for teens,
  • one for adults,
  • one that focuses on neurodiversity
  • and one called Let’s get started! It’s the Let’s Get Started pack that was made in collaboration with Skills Builder and is aimed at learners with additional needs.

The Super Socks activity has been designed to use alongside the Let's Get Started cards. Throughout the activity, learners reflect on their essential skills by sharing stories about their own unique life experiences and strengths.

Learners work in pairs or small groups to celebrate one another's essential skills. There is an optional activity to link it to careers learning by discussing the importance of each essential skill in different job roles.

The Super Socks make a lovely display to celebrate the collective skills of the group.

The resource comes with an instruction sheet and 28 sock templates. It is available to download for free from the What's your strength?® website.
