The Big AI Project aims to equip all schools in the UK and Republic of Ireland with the skills they need to approach an AI-infused world safely, ethically and strategically.

The Big AI Project has designed FREE resources for school leaders, teachers, and students aged 3 to 14. These resources are teacher-designed, quality assured and have been piloted with representatives from over 230 schools nationally.

These resources include:

  • Face to face training for school leaders
  • A Framework of Principles for school leaders and teachers
  • A suite of online teacher training CPD sessions
  • Curricula for Early Years to Key Stage 3, and Secondary students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Resource Guide with links to FREE partner resources
  • Parent Guides

These resources are all free for all schools and are accessed by attending a free regional school leader training session.

The Big AI Project supports students to reflect on the essential skills that unlock learning help them explore new concepts.  Focus skill steps have been aligned to session outcomes, with reflective questions woven through teaching resources, and guidance for teaching staff to facilitate this reflection.  Targeted skill step language gives students the opportunity to become more self-aware of their skill levels and next steps by reflecting on the essential skill steps, helping them to connect where they might have seen these skills elsewhere.

School leader training sessions also highlight the importance of essential skills to teaching staff as they navigate decisions on how best to approach an AI-infused world.
