The Networked Scholarship Scheme is the firm’s flagship outreach programme which launched in 2010 to support young people from low income backgrounds into professional careers. They recruit five A-level students from comprehensive schools in London to participate in the five-year programme. The scheme is not necessarily about creating lawyers but about fostering skills that apply to all business environments and creating future business leaders. Scholars participate in insight days with clients, a three-week internship, work shadowing opportunities, a trip to HSF Kramer's Paris office, they have a HSF mentor for five years and a financial bursary to support through university.

The Skills Builder names and definitions for the skills and skill steps are used consistently throughout all touchpoints on the programme. This helps secure a consistent understanding of what the skills mean and helps support scholars in identifying where they have demonstrated these skills elsewhere.

The programme offers multiple opportunities for scholars to effectively assess themselves against the Skills Builder Framework steps, and quantify this via the Benchmark tool. This ensures a sense of ownership for each individual and puts them at the centre of their own development.

Finally, the Skills Builder icons are used as a visual reminder of the skills, again helping them to connect the skills to other experiences.
