Daylight Studio harnesses the power of music to inspire and empower disabled individuals on their personal development journeys. Each session transforms into a space for creativity, reflection and connection, where music becomes a language for exploring identity, emotion and the world around us.

At the heart of this process are Skills Builder’s Speaking and Listening essential skills, woven into every session to nurture confidence, communication and self-expression. These experiences help Artists grow not only as musicians but as individuals equipped with valuable, transferable skills for everyday life.

Beyond the studio, Daylight celebrates its Artists by sharing their stories, releasing their music and collaborating on live performances and events, amplifying disabled voices and creativity within the wider community and beyond.

Speaking and Listening have been chosen for Daylight Studio’s provision because two-way communication is central to every session. Facilitators work closely with each individual to identify how they can develop their essential skills, using the Skills Builder Hub and its resources such as short lessons and practical activities.

Progress is tracked collaboratively by facilitators, the individual’s support network and the individual themselves. This approach ensures that these essential skills are not only strengthened within music sessions but also carried forward and applied in everyday life.
