What’s your strength?® is the brainchild of Career Development Professional, Katherine Jennick, who is passionate about using a strength-based approach to help people realise amazing they are. Founded in 2019, What’s your strength?® started as a pack of cards to empower teenagers. It has evolved into a series of award-winning resources for young people, adults, and people with additional needs. As well as the abundance of strength-based resources, Katherine also offers 1:1 career guidance for young people, and runs collaborative creative workshops for a variety of different audiences.
There are four packs of cards in the What’s your strength collection; One for teens, one for adults, one that focuses on neurodiversity, and one called Let’s get started! It’s the Let’s Get Started pack that was made in collaboration with Skills Builder and is aimed at learners with additional needs.
There is a set of posters that accompany the Let’s get started cards. The green subject posters, based on a SEND curriculum, help learners to make tangible links between their school learning and future lives.
The purple posters allow learners to reflect on their own unique life stories and strengths.
On both sets, the essential skills icons are used and linked to the different skills and qualities that appear on each poster.
Alongside the 27 posters, there is ‘Top Tips’ guide with ideas about how to use them to encourage career conversations and help learners become more self-aware. This also includes a QR code with a direct link to a glossary with definitions (including the Skills Builder essential skills).
