The Empower Project delivers a year-long programme of tailored careers activities for students at risk of becoming NEET. Through repeated workshops, workplace visits, and employer-led experiences, students develop essential skills and gain exposure to growth-sector careers. Using Skills Builder, the programme embeds structured skill development and reflection, focusing on speaking, listening, and adapting. By combining practical experiences with guided reflection, Empower builds confidence, raises aspirations, and supports improved school engagement and post-16 progression.
Empower provides sustained, structured opportunities for students to build and apply essential skills in varied contexts. Activities include interactive workshops, workplace visits, and employer-led sessions, all mapped to Skills Builder competencies. Students practise communication, teamwork, and problem-solving repeatedly, with reflection sessions reinforcing progress. The programme’s design ensures skills are developed over time, not in isolation, and linked to real-world applications. This approach fosters confidence, resilience, and readiness for future education and employment.
