CanTeam, an initiative delivered by Future Foundations, aims to transform educational and nutritional outcomes for young people and their families by equipping schools to offer after-school food programmes. The provision goes beyond simply providing meals; it actively engages students by empowering them to organise, prepare, and host these community events themselves. By integrating nutritional support with practical, youth-led initiatives, CanTeam provides a holistic approach to student development. This model not only addresses food insecurity and community wellbeing but also fosters a supportive environment where young people can thrive academically and personally while strengthening their local school community

CanTeam inspires young people to adopt leadership roles and collaborate to build community events. Through in-person training, students undertake a journey of Teamwork and Leadership, beginning with a self-assessment of their current skills. Participants and teachers are directed to Skills Builder resources via the official website to deepen their understanding. After independently preparing the event, with occasional on-the-ground support from the organisation, students complete a structured evaluation. Here, they reassess their Teamwork and Leadership capabilities, allowing the organisation to collate scores and accurately measure developmental progress.
