Bridge the Gap Malvern Ltd (BTGM) is a specialist Alternative Provision for 16- to 25-year old students who have an EHCP (Education and Health Care Plan) and need a different approach to post-16 education.

The organisation's goal is to help students to build the skills needed for independence and employment.

The Skills Builder Universal Framework is a core element of the curriculum and is embedded in all student programmes. BTGM prioritises the four skills areas within Self-Management and Communication, due to the importance of these skills in enabling students to communicate effectively, advocate for themselves, sustain social relationships, and support their mental health and wellbeing.

All students are introduced to Skills Builder during induction. Students then work to Individual Provision Plans (IPPs) with small, focused targets that are relevant to their individual EHCP outcomes. Skills Builder steps are used for target-setting and Skills Builder steps of progress are monitored each half-term.
